Stolpersteine NRW is an Android application developed by Westdeutscher Rundfunk, aimed at educating people about the Holocaust victims. The app offers an interactive approach to history, showing the stories of people who once lived in your city or street, and who were forced to flee, commit suicide, or were deported during the Nazi regime. The app presents an extensive database of over 15,000 Stolpersteine, small brass plates installed on sidewalks with the basic information of each victim.

The app provides audio and biographical texts, historical photos, videos, and augmented reality elements, allowing users to explore the lives of the victims and their unique stories. Moreover, the app includes a map with all the Stolpersteine locations, suggestions for routes through North Rhine-Westphalian cities, and interactive filters for searching and researching all 15,000 data sets. The app also offers educational material in collaboration with "Planet Schule."
