Stardew Valley Anime Mod is a free character portrait mod for Stardew Valley. This anime mod updates the original portrait models to colorful, detailed anime-style characters. This mod includes updates for bachelors, bachelorettes, and NPCs not eligible for marriage.  It’s available from creator Ohodavi and will need the Nexus Mods Manager download. 

Anime Mod has two million total downloads on Nexus Mods, making it one of the most popular mods for character portraits. Additionally, you can download Diverse Stardew Valley, which adds ethics, cultural, gender, and body type diversity, or Monster Valley, which adds fantasy monster elements.

It lacks polish though, as the bachelors are a little less sparkly than the bachelorettes. There’s also a re-color mod that the creator recommends downloading to offer more variety. 

File contents 

This mod has two main files, Oho Davi Portrait xnb 1.5 and Portrait Anime Mods Ohodavi 1.5, and includes update files for Magnus Mermaid(SVE) and SVE AP ohodavi. Players looking to download this mod must paste ‘Oho Davi Portrait xnb 1.5’ into their ‘Stardew valley/Content/Portraits’ folder to update the files. 

Reported bugs

While the download of Anime Mod includes several updates and patches, users still report issues with getting the download to work. Users who say that this file doesn’t work may need to unzip the file and ensure the xnr files are copied into each character in the portrait category. You should also ensure that both the Nexus Mods manager and Stardew Valley base game are up to date and working.
