A light-hearted multiplayer platforming game
Stack Up (or dive trying) is a premium strategy game for PC by game developer PixelConflict. It's a stack-your-way-up 3D platformer that has players stack up various objects, with the main goal of reaching as high as they can, all while avoiding contact with water.
Stack Up (or dive trying) employs a similar concept to Human: Fall Flat in the sense that it has players utilize their surroundings to help them accomplish their objectives. It features a simple gameplay loop that is easy to learn but is entertainingly challenging to pull off properly.
Is it any good?
Stack Up (or dive trying) is a 3D platformer with a simple goal, reach as high as you can by stacking the various objects you see around you. The game has a cartoonish and colorful presentation. Random objects will be falling from above, and they will help you start stacking and climb up. They range from harmless fridges and sofas to catapulting trampolines and dangerous sticky desks.
Things aren't as straightforward as they seem in the game, though. You will also need to contend with the ever-present threat of water that is slowly rising and swallowing everything up, including the very platform that you're trying to stack up to help you climb higher. It suddenly becomes a race against time to stack up as much as you can or dive trying.
There are various unlockable cosmetic items like hats and hammers to customize your characters with as you compete in the Global Heightscore or challenge your friends in online multiplayer. One thing missing that could be added in the future would be a matchmaking system to make it easier to find opponents. Apart from that, it's a lot of fun to play for hours on end.
How high can you go?
Stack Up (or dive trying) gets an easy recommendation just for being a simple and fun game that anyone can enjoy. The overall presentation is charming and the gameplay is deceptively simple. Whether you'll play it solo or with friends, you're bound to have a good time and will probably spend plenty of hours on it. A must-play.
