Developed by Venko Games, Spooky Cat is an adorably scary simulator game in which you will play as a blue ghost cat. The main objective is simple, which is to knock out the bullies or hostage-takers and save the victims in each room.

To fulfill that, the player has to drag the ghost cat around and possess certain items—those with glowing yellow outlines—to control them. Spooky Cat comes with whimsically cartoonish and colorful graphics as well as lots of unique levels that will challenge the player and keep the excitement going.

Knock thieves out and save hostages

Spooky Cat opens with a tutorial that will show the player the game’s ropes in a super understandable and quick way. Approaching the items that have glowing yellow outlines around them triggers the cat’s possession into them—once an item is possessed, the player will be able to drag that item around and cause trouble. At the same time, closing in on elevated surfaces will prompt the cat to jump up.

In each normal level, the player has to knock the hostage-taker or bully out. This can be accomplished by manipulating the controllable objects in the room. Some levels need a more strategic approach, however, requiring that the items are possessed in a certain order. If you miscalculate a level, you can’t easily start over or press an undo button; you have to go back to the home screen.

Landing hits on the villain or damaging items in the room with the possessed object produces coins that the player can collect. These coins can then be used for buying animal skins—if you get bored of playing with a ghost cat, you can try a dog or a chick. Cool accessories can be unlocked, too. However, the game shows ads at the end of each level, disrupting continuous gameplay.

With fun graphics and easy-to-understand gameplay mechanics, Spooky Cat ensures a fun and thrilling gaming experience. Not only that, but some of the more puzzling levels employ strategic thinking as well. There are different animal ghost skins to unlock and save coins up for, adding charm to the overall game. However, it is rife with so many ads, which can get frustrating.
