Convert your spoken words into written text
The Speech To Text app is a primitive version of the Windows 7 voice recognition software, but the programmers have removed the command functions so that it may only be used for voice-to-text document work and not for controlling your computer. On the plus side, this means you do not have to learn a bunch of commands, you simply talk into your microphone and it converts what you say into written text on a document.
Pros
- Okay for creating drafts without physically typing text
- Click the microphone button and start talking
- Doesn't require lots of pre-use optimization
- Has a very simple and self-explanatory GUI
Cons
- English grammar is very poorly optimized
- End text requires serious editing before being readable
- Voice recognition is substandard
- Picks up words very slowly
