Sound Destroyer is a free Chrome add-on developed by Jackie Ell. This handy tool mutes noisy and intrusive websites, allowing you to browse the web in peace. With Sound Destroyer, only trusted sites will make noise on inactive tabs, ensuring a more focused browsing experience.

One of the standout features of Sound Destroyer is its ability to automatically mute tabs that are making noise, but are not your current active tab. This is particularly useful when you have multiple tabs open and want to eliminate distractions. Additionally, Sound Destroyer allows you to create a list of trusted sites that are allowed to play background noise. For example, you can listen to a song on YouTube while browsing another tab without being interrupted by other websites.
