Soro is a program that extends Siri and the Shortcuts app to provide new actions for controlling Sonos speakers and devices. With Soro, users can create quick actions or extensive workflows to control their speakers using widgets, Siri voice commands, or automations. The latest versionintroduces a new 'Speak Text' action, which allows users to play messages or media files on their supported Sonos speakers using the text-to-speech features of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This action seamlessly continues the previously playing content after the message.

In addition to the 'Speak Text' action, Soro also adds a range of other actions to the Shortcuts app. Users can group or ungroup speakers, set volume levels, play, pause, or stop music, mute or unmute speakers, load music and favorites, and load URLs from Apple Music, Spotify, and Bandcamp. The program also allows users to browse and search for music library items, access Bandcamp purchases, set sleep timers, change repeat and shuffle settings, adjust equalizer settings, turn speech enhancement and night mode on or off, and control subwoofer and surround sound settings. Additionally, users can control TV inputs, set crossfade, adjust TV autoplay and dialog sync delay, wake speakers, set touch control, manage alarms, separate stereo pairs, and create stereo pairs.

To use Soro, the device needs to be on the same network as the Sonos speakers, and local network access needs to be granted by launching the main Soro app. In case of connectivity issues or when using a VPN, users can enable the Direct Connect feature within the app to improve execution speed. Soro supports both S1 and S2 systems, but all speakers need to be on the same operating system. Please note that Soro is not affiliated with Sonos Inc. and is not an official Sonos app.
