Songs of Silence is a multiplayer strategy game for PC from developer Chimera Entertainment. It's a fantasy adventure that melds turned-based tactics with auto-battler mechanics. In it, players will lead large-scale armies in a fight against a mysterious evil that threatens the peace and safety of the land. 

Similar to Stellaris and Crusader Kings III, Songs of Silences offers a narrative-driven experience that slowly unfolds as players go through each chapter. This game seeks to push the boundaries of traditional RTS with a blend of story, artistic flair, and game mechanics that emphasize exploration and strategic mastery. 

The sound of nothingness 

Songs of Silence takes place between two worlds at war — one of light and another of dark. They have been fighting over territories after a mysterious catastrophe called the Silence has consumed most of the land. With everything on the brink of ruin, their fate and survival rests in the hands of a select few, and you are one of these individuals. Choose from three factions and lead an army comprised of different soldier units, including archers and horse-backed riders through battlefields.  

As a player, you have to train them to increase their power and unlock siege weapons from your base with the gold and resources you collect. Lay down troops using a card-based format, while combat employs an auto-battler system. You can also summon special units or trigger a powerup effect for your troops, among others. After you experience the beautifully made single-player campaign, you can play with friends online via multiplayer co-op to help make the experience more fun and social.  

As you progress, you can encounter a diverse cast of heroes, each with personal stories and unique abilities tied to the overarching themes of sound and silence. This compelling lore is communicated through rich in-game cinematics and dialogue, giving each faction’s journey gravitas. While RTS games often prioritize gameplay over story, this game breaks tradition by presenting an intricate narrative that enhances the stakes of each mission, lending an emotional layer that enriches the player’s experience. 

Provides you with a strategy and real-time tactics experience 

Its gameplay marries traditional RTS elements with fresh mechanics that emphasize the concept of sound and silence in combat and exploration. Players alternate between managing resources, commanding troops, and executing strategic decisions on a dynamic battlefield. However, unlike conventional RTS games where speed and micromanagement dominate, this game prioritizes tactical planning and the careful orchestration of units. Each faction’s relationship to sound and silence impacts gameplay: sound can rally troops, intimidate enemies, or unlock special abilities, while silence can cloak units or enable ambushes.

The game features a system that intertwines resources with the powers of sound and silence, making resource-gathering a more tactical affair. However, while the game presents two distinct factions with unique abilities, players accustomed to a wide variety of factions or classes might find the options somewhat limiting.

It looks nice and allows for surprisingly deep combat tactics despite its auto-battler nature. It innovates by introducing a compelling narrative and unique mechanics based on sound and silence, which sets it apart from other RTS games and also provides players with a rich, immersive experience.
