Free app for organizing phone content
SnapPea is a free utility that lets you organize the contents of your phone from your PC. Developed by SnapPea, this organizer is a two-pronged solution: it will require a copy of the app on the phone and the PC. After this, you can freely access the contents from a mobile device using your computer.
With its user-friendly interface, SnapPea poses itself as a great alternative to other file organizers, like AirDroid Desktop or Feem for Windows. Also, like the other two, this app works wirelessly–no USB cable or any other connector is needed.
One trait that makes SnapPea a sought-after app for remotely organizing your phone contents is that its PC interface is neatly arranged. Its simple interface contains buttons for Music, Videos, Photos, and Text for different file types. The app also features a summary view, which gives you a real-time overview of your device’s condition–storage size left, distribution of file types, and even your battery status.
Additionally, the app is linked to a number of sites you can access to set up your phone. This includes Google Play for Android devices, and you can directly access, download, and install apps for your phone. Meanwhile, the app has its in-house app store named 1Mobile Apps, which it actively promotes for users to try out. These links are already included with the app and can’t be changed.
Another feature that makes the app commendable is it allows users to view and reply to text messages directly from their PC. With this, you can still be connected without shifting between your devices and keep a seamless experience. Also, you can archive text messages, enabling you to keep a backup while freeing space on your device. You can view your text messages as you would from the inbox, making it easy to select the ones you need.
The SnapPea app also offers a live preview mode, which allows you to view your phone’s contents in real-time. However, this is very slow, making it unsuitable for presenting content from phone to PC. There is a noticeable delay between making actions such as navigating and selecting files to actually seeing them on-screen. It’s actually better to navigate using the normal view, where you can freely move without lags.
Also, while you can see information and even import various file types from your PC, the app doesn’t come with a built-in media player. This means that you can’t view media files directly and will need to copy them first to an external location in your PC before you can check what those files contain. For users who keep large amounts of videos or music files, this translates to additional time and storage costs to keep tabs on their files.
SnapPea is a great solution for checking and organizing your files on mobile using your PC. It has a simple interface and even offers a summary view for your device. The app also comes with a default set of platforms to help you better organize and set up your phone. As an added convenience, it allows you to receive, read, and respond to text messages without leaving the app or switching back to your phone.
