A useful app for remotely controlling smart products
Samsung is one of the leading manufacturers of smart products in the market today. Although they are primarily known for their amazing smartphones, Samsung actually manufactures a wide variety of smart products such as laptops, TVs, soundbars and speakers, and printers. They also have their own line of home appliances such as washers, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, dryers, and more. People who want to build a smart home can choose from Samsung’s wide range of products to make their dream a reality. Of course, to make a truly smart home, you’ll need a special app that can control any smart product. SmartThings by Samsung is one such app. and it’s specifically optimized for Samsung smart products.
With SmartThings, users will be able to connect and control several devices. It doesn’t matter where the user is and how far they are from their device, as long as devices are connected to the app’s server via Wi-Fi, users will be able to monitor a device’s status and even issue commands remotely. The app has customized controls and commands depending on the kind of device that has been connected to the app. Devices can also be grouped into Mode so users can control them at the same time. Finally, the app also supports voice control so users have even more freedom when it comes to controlling their devices.
One of the most impressive elements about this app is its aesthetic. It’s sleek, clean, and modern. It has no unnecessary decorations that only serve to clutter the app’s screen. Instead, the app contains only the most important information and commands for the user. Its color scheme is the classic white background with light blue accents that’s incredibly pleasing to the eye.
In terms of performance, SmartThings is pretty good despite a few hiccups here and there. Setting up devices and connecting them to the app is pretty easy. Most of the time, the app will be able to easily detect the device the user needs and users just have to click Add to connect the device. When devices have been set up correctly, SmartThings performs admirably well with accurate status information and properly executed commands.
The biggest concerns about this app are its tendency to consume resources and its connectivity issues. If you have faulty, dysfunctional Wi-Fi at home, SmartThings might be a pain to use. Of course, the app also requires users to be connected online to receive updates which consume precious resources such as memory and battery. If you can set it up properly, it should work without a hitch, but it would take just a very simple problem to make the whole system go awry.
SmartThings is a very useful app, especially for people who like the convenience of an automated home. There’s no harm in getting this app and using it if you already have a couple of smart gadgets and appliances lying around, but don’t spend money on them thinking this app will work 100%.
