Intuitive Voice Recorder for Personal Use
Those who are looking for more recording options when compared to the standard QuickTime bundle will find this application useful. It offers a number of options that are not present within more generic packages.
A Full-Featured Audio Recorder
Smart Recorder - The Voice Recorder is packed full of utilities and tools that are not present within out-of-the-box options. Examples include (but are by no means limited to) skipping to different portions within a track, time-based tags, flexible playback speeds, and the possibility of exporting an HTML file of all audio modifications.
User-Friendly System Settings
Smart Recorder is equipped with a handy feature that allows users to adjust the time frame associated with skipping forward or backward when analyzing a track. It boasts sampling rates between 8,000 Hz and 44,100 Hz. All files can be synced within the iCloud platform. This is useful when sharing tracks with others or if a backup copy needs to be accessed on short notice.
Pros
- Only 2.5 megabytes of memory is required.
- Written notes can be linked to an audio recording.
- Numerous languages are supported within its system settings.
- Many more options when compared to the QuickTime audio recorder.
Cons
- The "lite" version is limited to three minutes of recording time.
- Saved files may be difficult to access.
- Data could be lost on occasion.
- Some feel that the UI could be improved.
