Smart BTW was born out of concern for the high failure rate among candidates in the Basic Competency Selection (SKD) stage conducted by the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) for both civil servant recruitment and government school admissions (Ikatan Dinas).

The app is initiated and managed by a group of distinguished alumni from top universities (ITS, ITB, UGM, UI, UNUD) and government school alumni (STTD, STPDN, STAN, STPI, STP).
