The game employs a gauge-based power-up system wherein you’ll build up your upgrade meter by collecting stars from destroyed enemies. 

Choose from various weapon upgrades, including lasers, bombs, and missiles. However, addition will increase your ship’s size and hitbox, making it harder for you to evade and easier for enemies to hit you. Quality of life improvements include quick saves, aim assist, and a unique rewind feature. Despite all that, the game comes with a steep difficulty curve.
