SkiFree is a casual single-player sports simulator that immerses players in an exhilarating skiing experience. Utilizing either keyboard or mouse controls, players navigate a skier down an endless slope while avoiding various obstacles such as trees, stumps, and even dogs. The game features three distinct modes: slalom, freestyle, and tree slalom, each offering unique challenges and gameplay mechanics. In slalom mode, players race against the clock, maneuvering around flags to achieve the best time. Tree slalom introduces additional obstacles to the mix, increasing the difficulty of the run.

Freestyle mode encourages creativity as players ski downhill, jump off ramps, and perform tricks to earn points. However, players must be cautious, as collisions with obstacles or failed landings incur penalties. A thrilling twist occurs when players surpass the 2,000-meter mark, triggering the appearance of the Abominable Snowman, who chases the skier, adding an element of excitement and urgency to the gameplay.
