Explore a vast wasteland filled with Lovecraftian horrors and meet all kinds of shady individuals as you uncover secrets and behind-closed-curtain schemes of the Gallian Empire, all while trying to carve out a path to survive your mere existence.

There are over a dozen classes to choose from depending on your preferred play style. You can level up to 20, allowing you to unlock and combine all kinds of skills and abilities, as well as various gear to equip. This strategy RPG has a dice mechanic in its gameplay that puts your fate to the luck of the roll.

Take on various quests with specific objectives to accomplish, while reading journals that describe the location of hidden secrets throughout the map. Now, while the game's 8-bit pixel art is quite charming and gives it a unique presentation, it unfortunately works against it as it sacrifices text legibility. The use of bright sprites and vibrant colors will be quite overwhelming for some, nauseating even.

All in all, if you like dark fantasy adventure games, SKALD: Against the Black Priory offers a compelling experience with its tactical combat, curious story, and unpredictable nature.
