Simple Countdown is a desktop applet that allows you to set a timer that counts down from when you activate it. It offers the ability to run multiple timers at once, and it also uses a mixture of colour and other design elements to stand out. As its primary method of communication, it flashes the screen when the countdown has been reached.

Simple Countdown does what it says, providing fairly precise minute and second tracking as it counts down, then informing you noticeably once the countdown has finished. You can run multiple timers, and the slick look extends to all of them. You can even change the colour of each time for better viewing. On the other hand, it's hard to move each timer where you want: they appear in a specific array, which means you'll need a pretty big screen if you want to read and use the timer(s) simultaneously.

Simplicity itself

Although the applet doesn't offer many extra features beyond what it needs to count down effectively and visibly, it succeeds at its core mission of being simple, and if you have multiple monitors, its larger flaws will be no problem to deal with whatsoever.
