Silicon Dreams is a narrative-based role-playing game in which the player controls an android interrogator. The object is to pursue clues, examine suspects, and eventually get to the bottom of the intrigue at Kronos Robotics. Unraveling the truth will require close attention to detail.

The game is set in a world reminiscent of Cyberpunk 2077, although it also belongs to the "interrogation game" genre alongside Interrogation 091. It drops the player in the middle of a complicated science fiction story with heavy moral decisions to make.

A Blade Runner-like future

Anyone who has seen the Blade Runner films will be able to grasp the story behind Silicon Dreams. The game storyline takes place in the year 2065, a year when androids have become commonplace. The player controls an android who has the job of interrogating members of his own kind to find out if they are wrongdoers.

Monitor your interrogation subjects

The game is heavily narrative-driven. As the story unfolds, the player will need to research each android up for interrogation and work out which questions to ask.

When the interrogations begin, you will need to monitor your subject's emotions and figure out whether they are telling the truth or lying. Once you've made your decision, you can either let the android free or hand them to your superiors.

Moral questions

The twist in the story is that the company the player works for, Kronos Robotics, is not necessarily within the moral right. Whenever you expose a deviant android, you're given the option of undermining the company by letting the rebel free.

Emphasis on text over graphics

In visual terms, Silicon Dreams is fairly basic. The 3D surroundings are sparse, and the interrogations consist largely of on-screen text accompanied by a close-up of the subject's eye (its movements and pupil dilation convey emotions). The game is suited to those interested in science fiction sagas.
