Choose your hero

Silent Hope features seven unique heroes, each with their own fighting style. Players can select from a diverse roster of characters—including the likes of a Wanderer, an Archer, and a Warrior—each offering a different playstyle. As players gain more experience, they can explore new roles and abilities, enhancing customization. Crystals scattered throughout the Abyss can also enable players to switch characters or retreat to Base Camp.

Within the Abyss' edge, players establish a Base Camp, a place of respite where each character assumes a different role. The exploration aspect of the game and its enigmatic dungeons—which reconfigure with each visit—ensures a unique experience for players on every journey. Best of all, the game's aesthetic brings to life a vibrant storybook, with the Princess narrating each step of the journey.

However, the game does come with its pitfalls. Its appeal can be limited to those who are particularly fond of roguelites. While the seven characters offer different weapons and abilities, enabling varying levels of customization, some game elements can feel monotonous, draining the fun out of the experience. Additionally, the upgrades can feel inadequate when considering the level imbalance between your character and the enemies you face.
