In Sienitunnistus, we are trying to create a more comprehensive database of fungal species in the Finnish area. For that purpose, we are collecting information on fungal species from different locations in Finland, and we are developing a special algorithm that can identify a fungal species based on its structure. The database will be useful for both scientists and for people who just want to know what kind of fungus they might find in their yard or in their garden.

We have made the algorithm available for free on GitHub so that everyone can check it and contribute to it.
