Siegecraft is a real-time strategy game that incorporates elements of artillery gameplay. In it, you take command of an army of warriors from one of three fantasy races and must defeat your foes in a series of ever more difficult battles. In addition to your troops, you control powerful artillery, which you must aim and fire manually to help your units defeat their enemies.

A blend of game styles

Although battles in Siegecraft unfold like an RTS, you don't have a lot of control over your forces once the fighting starts. You just need to protect them along the way, which makes the game feel a little more like a hybrid between a cannon game like Angry Birds and something like Lemmings. The artillery controls are simple, but do require you to judge distance and timing carefully: you can see that they originated as swipe-based mobile controls, but this implementation works well. As the game progresses, you can buy weapon upgrades and new types of ammunition, but the basic gameplay remains the same, and the different races and missions don't really change it much either: you'll do the shooting, with the only difference being what and who you're shooting at.

Simple but enjoyable

Siegecraft isn't exactly a deep strategy game: it's really an artillery game with a battle context. If you're looking for depth, you'll be disappointed, but blowing things up with a catapult is still a lot of fun.
