One of the Kutub al-Sittah (the six main hadith collections) of Sunni Islam is Sahih al-Bukhari (Arabic: ). After being passed down orally for many centuries, these prophetic traditions, or hadith, were compiled by the Persian Muslim scholar Muhammad al-Bukhari. Along with Sahih Muslim and Muwatta Imam Malik, this is regarded by Sunni Muslims as one of the three most reliable compilations of hadith.
