Shyamalee Chouhad: CMIPP is a plantation program initiated by the Science, Technology, and Climate Change Department of Assam. The program aims to mitigate climate change by promoting the plantation and natural regeneration of plants in Northeast India, which is highly vulnerable to climate change. The program will cover all departments under the banner "Chief Minister's Institutional Plantation Programme" (CMIPP) and will be implemented from July 17th to August 15th, 2022.

The program has been designed to be practical, sustainable, and long-lasting, as it takes into account the strategic location, fragile ecosystem, transboundary river basin, and socio-demographic variables of Northeast India. The program is coordinated by the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council. The initiative is a step towards tackling the pressing global environmental challenge faced by humanity today.
