The Sensors Alive app is an innovative and gamified sensor physics lab that brings abstract physics phenomena to life. Developed by Franckh-Kosmos Verlags GmbH & Co. KG, this app is part of the Sensors Alive experimental kit, which requires the use of Sensor Pods and the Base Station to unlock all app functions.

In this app-based video game, you play the role of a scientist in a pretend bioengineering lab. You collect real-world sensor data from three physical sensor pods and transfer it to the game via the base station. This data then dictates the attributes of the bioengineered creatures you create. For example, a low temperature measurement will result in a creature with long hair to keep warm, while a high sound level reading might yield a creature with tiny ears.

The app allows you to not only create and collect these creatures, but also care for them, feed them, play with them, and even create habitats for them. By using the sensors to capture data, you will gain experience in measuring light levels, volumes, and temperatures, while learning about the physics behind light, sound, and heat. With seemingly infinite combinations of creature attributes, the possibilities for experimentation and learning are endless.
