After you've logged in to the program, which provides access to both features and secured folders, Secure Folder provides a number of other features as well: you can scan your file system for errors, for example, though this is one of many features that aren't as strong as the folder-locking mechanism. The downside to Secure Folder is that because none of its features can hook directly into Windows, you need Secure Folder installed to decrypt and access the folders you use with it, in addition to using its other features. But most folder-locking applications work entirely the same way, outside of those on the cloud.

Overall, Secure Folder has a ton of different features beyond just what the name implies, and it's a useful security tool for getting more control over your file system. As long as you accept that it will become a permanent fixture of your computer as long as you use its features, Secure Folder can handle just about any related task you throw at it.
