Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is a DLC for the turn-based RPG by Sabotage Studio, Sea of Stars. This add-on content centers around the side adventure of Valere and Zale, set in the miniature world of Horloge, where they must save innocent denizens from the cursed carnival.  

Similar to its base game, Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker offers the same role-playing, exploration, and turn-based gameplay mechanics within its pixelated world, now with a fresh and new storyline that expands the game’s lore, making it the perfect follow-up to an already imaginative and engaging story. 

Brand-new story 

Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker’s storyline reintroduces the Watchmaker, a character who debuted in the main game. She’s often seen busy working on her inventions, with the mini-game Wheels being one of her most notable creations. In this chapter, she sends and guides the two solstice warriors on a new mission in a clockwork world threatened by a cursed carnival. 

In this miniature world, Zale and Valere must adapt to the rules of this realm, with Zale taking on the role of a Juggler and Valere assuming the role of an acrobat. Playing their respective characters, besides utilizing their Sun and Moon powers, is important in this realm to safely work around the various challenges that await them to survive. 

The brand-new storyline comes with fresh features, such as diverse environments, various enemy factions, and non-player characters. Despite these newly introduced elements, Sabotage’s composer, Eric W. Brown, and guest composer Yasunori Mitsuda return to this installment to provide a fresh and immersive set of tracks. However, since this game is an add-on content, it requires players to own the base game.
