Scholarometer is a browser extension developed by Scholarometer Indiana University. It is a social platform that extends Google Scholar to facilitate scholarly citation analysis. With Scholarometer, users can provide author annotations about their fields, and the tool uses this crowdsourced data to evaluate the impact of an author's publications in those fields. The impact metric provided by Scholarometer can be compared across fields, offering valuable insights into an author's academic influence.

After installing the Scholarometer extension, users will be able to see the Scholarometer panel at the top right-hand side of any Google Scholar profile page. This panel provides users with access to the impact metrics and analysis generated by Scholarometer.

The latest version of Scholarometerincludes a popup that explains how to use the tool, which appears before the first use. It also includes support for the new CORS policy for extensions introduced in Chrome 85. Previous versions have focused on bug fixes, improvements to h-index validation, updates to the allowed URLs list, and faster information retrieval.
