Satisfactory is an open-world game, allowing players to strategize and build to optimize resource gathering. Developed by Coffee Stain, this open-world builder offers freedom of exploration in a first-person perspective with adventure and combat sprinkled along the way. On this alien planet, resources are plentiful. Harvesting them is the goal. 

Satisfactory encourages you to be creative and build factory-like systems to automate resource gathering by giving players extensive tools for automation. All the resources matter as they are used for crafting tools, creating buildings, and feeding your power source—so build wisely. 

Ground-to-space automation 

Satisfactory can be best described as a 3D version of Factorio as both games feature a similar building system that uses machinery to automate material collection. Explore unique ways to gather resources, sustain power sources, and link everything with conveyor belts into a centralized factory your way. Unlike most open-world games with procedurally generated environments, this game only has 30km2 in area coverage, which is huge but not infinite. 

Players must venture into a vibrant alien planet with unique environments consisting of rich fauna and flora. This world is captivating and rich in resources perfectly suited for your goal to collect and deliver them to the mysterious you’re employed to. You play as a FICSIT pioneer, part of the Save the Day program, that tasks you to exploit and gather materials for an unknown yet suspiciously dubious purpose. 

Adventure, collect, and build in style 

In Satisfactory, you’re bound to encounter inhabitants of this planet ranging from tiny arachnid Stingers to a friendly Lizard Doggo and even a massive Flying Crab. Not all creatures are friendly as hostile alien life forms will engage in combat to protect their resources. You needn’t travel alone as a multi-player co-op exists, gather friends to help you in your quest and speed up your process. 

Standout features of the game include the ability to craft vehicles and research technologies that will help you along the way. Multiple items, abilities, and infrastructures help achieve your goals—propelling your resource gathering to greater heights. However, there are two main issues with this gameplay loop: the grind-y and repetitive nature of the game.
