Sarventes Mid-Fight Masses - Friday Night Funkin' Mod is a free video game utility that lets you have a full week of fighting a fan-made character in the hit indie rhythm game, Friday Night Funkin'. Developed by Dokki.doodlez, Mike Geno, and kuroao_anomal, you get all-new songs and other cool features here.

Similar to V.S. WHITTY FULL WEEK and VS Hex, Sarventes Mid-Fight Masses introduces a new opponent you can fight in a sing-off. Additionally, it offers new songs, a customized dialogue system, a new game mode, and more. However, one drawback here is the poor charting and registering of notes.

Friday Night Funkin' is a free-to-play and open-source music game released back in 2020, wherein you play as a boy trying to score a date with his girlfriend. This game was first created for the Ludum Dare 47 competition and was eventually released as a browser game and a downloadable file. Its success and open-source code eventually garnered numerous creative mods that feature original fan-made characters.

One of these is the Sarventes Mid-Fight Masses mod, which features Sarventes the nun. She’s eager to get the main character to join her church—even going so far as to do a rap battle. Like the base game, you get a full week of fighting against her, with four funky songs to master. Aside from new soundtracks, you get full replayable cutscenes, gorgeous art, and a cool dialogue system.

There’s also a new difficulty level called Alt Mode—although not all songs have an Alt Mode version. Additionally, Sarventes isn’t the only character you can go up against in this mod. Gameplay-wise, though, everything’s decent enough but this mod has major issues with most notes not registering properly when pressed or being too delayed compared to the music. This can put off even the most inexperienced of rhythm game players.

Needs a little more love

All in all, Sarventes Mid-Fight Masses - Friday Night Funkin' Mod is a great addition to character mods for Friday Night Funkin'. It’s got a cool new character, as well as other features that flesh out the storyline for this level to make it fit in the canon story’s lore. However, its poor note charting and input delay ruin much of the fun experience you get from the songs.
