Salt and Sanctuary is a 2D action RPG developed by Ska Studios that follows an unnamed protagonist's journey to save a princess on a mysterious island. The game boasts a hand-drawn watercolor art style with a dark and cold palette.

The gameplay is heavily inspired by From Software's Souls series and Castlevania franchise. It blends traditional Metroidvania-style exploration with several game mechanics borrowed from Dark Souls. At the start of the game, players choose one of eight classes, which affects the initial equipment and starting skills of the character. The combat relies on different types of attacks, dodging, blocking, and the use of various abilities and items. With over 600 weapons, armor, disposable items, and other equipment to be found throughout the game, there's a lot to discover.

Salt and Sanctuary also features local multiplayer, both cooperative and competitive.
