Sahih Bukhari is a collection of the hadiths (oral traditions) of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh). It is the most authentic collection of the Sunnah (the religious law of Islam). The hadiths in this collection were collected by Imam Bukhari (d. 256) from Imam Muslim (d. 170), from Abu Dawood (d. 275), from Abu Hurairah (d. 273), from Al-Bukhari (d. 256) and other Islamic scholars.

Bukhari collected the hadiths in the most authentic way possible. He personally interviewed the Prophet, and also sent many of his students to interview people who were knowledgeable in the matters of Islam.
