Runes of Avalon 2 is a fantasy-themed match-three puzzle game. In it, you play the protector of the realm of Avalon. You must defeat the sorceress Morganna to restore freedom to the kingdom.

The power of the runes

Since this is a match-three puzzle game, the battle between good and evil in Runes of Avalon 2 takes the form of gem puzzles. In each puzzle, you'll be faced with a board partly covered in multi-colored runes. Your task is to match rows of runes, clearing them off the board. Matching three clears the runes, while matching four or more provides bonuses. Multiple runes can appear at once; you can rotate these multi-rune shapes to fit into the available space. Clear the runes within the time limit, and you'll advance to the next level.

A classic formula done well

There's nothing really groundbreaking about Runes of Avalon 2, but it's a good interpretation of a traditional puzzle game. The varied spell abilities keep things interesting, and there are lots of puzzles to play. If you're a fan of the genre, it's well worth checking out.
