In the official application of the Rubik's Cube, the step-by-step solution is presented in two modes. In the fast mode, the user can solve the cube using the minimum number of moves, which is a small number compared to the total number of possible moves. In the educational mode, the user will be guided through the solution step by step, and can view the movements to be performed in each step.

For each step, the user is shown the moves to be performed using a virtual cube. Each move consists of a series of rotations and translations. Rotations can be viewed individually or in a sequence, and translations are made in a direction or in a series of directions. The user can view the progress of the solution in real-time.
