Rubicon: Cubindom is a unique puzzler that is set in a cube. Developed by IgroMashine, this turn-based puzzle strategy game consists of a modified Rubik’s cube. The people of Cubindom need your help and by answering their call, you must face the challenges of restoring order by strategically manipulating the cube to destroy the evil Obfus’ army. 

In Rubicon: Cubindom, you must stop the the Obfus army from invading Cubindom, twist and the turn the cube such that it redirects attacks made by Obfus’ knights away from the kingdom and into your catapult’s stones. 

Redirect and attack 

Rubicon: Cubindom is a puzzler set in a Rubik’s cube where players choose between two different modes. One where Obfus’ enemies are trying to take over the kingdom and another where you must match the same colors in the cube to save the inhabitants from the dangers closing in on the walls. The first mode tasks you with keeping the people of Cubindom alive by redirecting foes and catapulting them. 

In addition, the second mode offers a familiar gameplay, matching colors to protect the Cubindom from impending doom. There are multiple levels available in the game as well as challenges. The predicament is that you’re only allowed limited moves to get the highest rating and a limited amount of health to lose, making planning more difficult than it seems. However, the gameplay variety is lacking, which can be boring. 

The game features a simple cube made with 3D assets comprising of Cubindom. The music is there but basic. The overall graphics of the game are simple, focusing on the gameplay mechanics. Due to the limited variety in content this game can be repetitive after a while. Moreover, the game’s puzzles are not really hard which can be disappointing, especially for veterans looking for more. 

A strategic twist on puzzle gameplay 

Rubicon: Cubindom delivers a unique twist on the classic Rubik’s cube by incorporating turn-based strategy mechanics. Players will enjoy solving puzzles and defending the kingdom of Cubindom with clever planning and limited moves. While the concept is fresh, the lack of gameplay variety and relatively easy puzzles may not satisfy more seasoned players. Overall, it’s a charming and creative experience suited for casual puzzle fans.
