RSN is an iPhone application developed by the Universidad de Costa Rica. It allows users to report earthquakes felt throughout Costa Rica. With this app, users will receive notifications whenever a significant earthquake occurs and can provide feedback on the intensity they felt through a questionnaire. The app also features a map of Costa Rica that shows all the earthquake reports submitted by users, categorized by the intensity of the earthquake. Additionally, RSN provides information about all the earthquakes recorded in Costa Rica, including a map of the epicenter locations and a detailed list of each earthquake's main characteristics.

The National Seismological Network (RSN) was created through a partnership between the Seismology, Volcanology, and Geophysical Exploration Section of the Central American School of Geology at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and the Seismic and Volcanic Threat Area of the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE). Its mission is to develop scientific knowledge about the Earth's internal geodynamics and transfer it to Costa Rican society through education and social action. This knowledge is then applied in risk management plans, territorial planning, and emergency response in Costa Rica.
