Its purpose was clear: let riders sign up, submit documents, complete training, and start taking food and goods delivery jobs through a dedicated driver tool. The app was tied to Purple Ventures Company Limited, part of the wider SCBX group, and it promoted flexible work with daily income flowing into the rider side of the service.

That practical focus gave the app a straightforward identity, but its current relevance is the real issue. SCBX announced that the Robinhood application service would be terminated on July 31, 2024, which heavily changes how this app should be viewed today. Because of that shutdown, Robinhood Rider now makes more sense as a former delivery-work tool than as a current recommendation for riders looking for an active platform.

What worked before the shutdown

Before the service ended, Robinhood Rider’s main strength was its narrow focus on drivers rather than customers. The onboarding flow was easy to understand on paper: prepare documents, register through the app, and attend training before taking jobs. The Play listing also positioned the app as a flexible way to accept delivery work, which gave it a clear purpose for riders.

Another useful point was the app’s earnings angle. The listing highlighted daily incoming income and stated that riders did not need to reserve money to pay for food, which sounds like a practical advantage for delivery work. At the same time, the confirmed public details were fairly thin when it came to deeper tools beyond the basic rider workflow.

That lack of detail matters. The available description says much less about navigation, route planning, live support, or advanced earnings management than it does about registration and job access. As a result, the app was easier to define as a functional delivery driver app than as a richly featured courier platform. The service closure now makes that limitation even harder to ignore.

More legacy listing than live option

Robinhood Rider had a clear role and a sensible driver-first setup, which gave it value when the Robinhood delivery service was operating. The problem is that the platform’s official termination changes the review completely. Today, the app’s strongest qualities are mostly historical: flexible rider onboarding, direct delivery-job purpose, and simple earnings framing.
