rEFIt is a boot management utility for devices which use EFI to start their operating system(s), such as Intel-based Macs. It helps the user manage multiple operating systems on one device, and it does so fairly effectively, though newer versions of both Linux and rEFIt itself can run into conflicts; stable versions of all software involved are generally best with rEFIt.
