Red Storm Survival is a 2D shooting game that you play from an overhead position. Move your robot around a square arena and shoot the many enemies that pursue you. Win and upgrade your robot to take on the next level.

Numerous enemies vs one robot

Red Storm Survival is a free arcade game with a very arcade-retro feel to it. A set number of robots are released into the arena five seconds after you enter. Destroy them and you either win the level, or another five-second counter starts and you have to destroy the next batch of robots. You are rewarded after completing each level, which then allows you to buy upgrades such as stronger or different weapons. For example, a mini-gun may have a penetrating effect that a laser doesn't, and one mini-gun may have a faster shooting rate than another.

Red Storm Survival has a lot of elements that annoy the gamer, and yet most of them would not exist of the developers had not abandoned the game seconds after releasing it. For example, if the developers had released a tutorial video or instructions on how to play the game, then they could have avoided many negative reviews. For example, the homing missiles seem to give the NPC enemies an unfair advantage, but if the developers had explained that they can be blocked by the many boxes in each arena, then players may have been less frustrated by the game. Red Storm Survival is not as bad as the online reviewers say it is, but it deserves its negative reputation for the way the developers abandoned it and never looked back.
