2D open-world action and exploration game
Rain World: Downpour is a 2D side-scrolling adventure game requiring users to traverse through and interact with various mythical environments. Throughout the game, you can enjoy original graphics and an interesting plot line based on the previous Rain World series.
Rain World: Downpour offers the same exciting levels of 2D action as other games, such as Earthblade. Here, you can explore multiple game modes and take on the role of various characters, with each boasting unique abilities, skills, stories, and gameplay mechanics. However, this expansion pack should also appeal to the base Rain World platform fans.
A simple yet entertaining game
Rain World: Downpour now comes with five new and unique characters. You can embody five distinct characters with remarkable traits, backgrounds, and gameplay styles in this game. Get to know Artificer, a formidable warrior with excellent combat skills, Gourmand who finds joy in life’s simpler pleasures, Saint who uses his tongue as a weapon, Spearmaster equipped with travel experiences, and Rivulet who’s an expert in the underwater realm.
Moreover, you have the ability to determine which character to use as you explore uncharted territories and higher levels. For instance, you can use Rivulet’s superior jumping and running skills to escape the hands of brazen creatures and Artificer’s ability to shapeshift into different objects whenever you see fit. Remember, customization is one of the most important aspects of the game—use it to achieve victory.
Besides the traditional 2D exploration mechanics, there are other game modes you can try. In the arena mode, you’re able to encounter multiple challenges that significantly increase in difficulty as you progress. Meanwhile, the open-world safari mode allows you to interact with nearby environments and use it to your advantage. The only drawback is that the open-world safari mode tends to feel clunky at times, especially if you’ve been playing the game continuously.
Captivating 2D adventure
Rain World: Downpour is a visually stunning 2D side-scrolling adventure game set in mythical environments. It expands on the previous Rain World series with original graphics and a captivating storyline. The game offers five new and distinct playable characters, such as the combat-savvy Artificer and the pleasure-seeking Gourmand. However, it’s worth mentioning that the open-world safari mode tends to feel clunky and rigid, affecting the overall gaming experience.
