It is an initiative by the Ministry of HRD to provide the same service to all employees and to make their lives better. It provides a service to both individuals and businesses. Individuals can use it as an employee benefit offered by their employer or an independent user, while businesses can use it as a service for their employees.

How does Rain work? The user has to provide document proofs for salary validation and complete the Aadhaar-based, mandated e-KYC to get instant access to their earned salary. The user can be an individual or a representative of a business. The individual can be a resident of India or a person residing outside of India. The individual has to be employed for at least three months at the firm. The employee needs to be registered with the firm. The employee can be an individual or a representative of a business.
