Race The Traffic challenges you to avoid hitting any of the traffic that comes your way. Much like real-life driving, there's no way to predict which way the traffic will go and what speed it will drive at so the aim is to get as far as you can as fast as you can while crashing as little as possible.

Unlock more cars by winning dollars

There are three game modes in Race The Traffic - endless one-way, endless two-way and one on one (versus the computer), all of which can be played in day or night. To progress through the game, you have to earn dollars through improving your distance, top speed time, overtakes, and number of checkpoints you go through.

Initially you can only choose from one car but you can upgrade - either by improving the car you currently have (handling, acceleration and brakes) or by unlocking a new car - with dollars. Or you can choose to unlock the cars through in-app purchases. But there are currently only four extra cars to choose from.

Every time you hit a car it loses you energy and if you lose too much energy then that ends the round. When a stage ends it says "you loose" instead of "you lose", which really needs to be fixed.

Easy to control cars

The controls in Race The Traffic are easy to pick up if a little clunky. You can pick between tilting your device to change direction or on-screen controls. There are only three commands - accelerate, brake and change direction.

There are a lot of adverts in Race The Traffic (one after every stage), which get really annoying. You can pay to unlock a version without adverts but users who want to pay for free are stuck with watching a video for at least ten seconds.

Fun but limited gameplay

Race the Traffic is a fun game but it's not unique. Overall, it's a pretty similar game to Traffic Racer while not adding anything new. It's good to play for a while then it gets a little repetitive as even when you unlock cars you're still essentially doing the same thing. And game play is stilted with all the adverts you're forced to watch.
