The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Arabic: الله‎, Allah). It is the only surviving complete book from the Old Testament of the Bible, and the second book from the Kitab al-Kareem, a book that was revealed to Muhammad. The Quran is divided into chapters called suras, which are then divided into verses. A translation of the Quran into another language is called a tafsir, and this is done by interpreting the meaning of the words in the context of the sura and the overall message of the sura. The word "Quran" is derived from the Arabic word qura, meaning "the recitation", "the remembrance", or "the revelation".
