Quran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Allah). The traditional narrative says that the Quran was revealed to Muhammad by God through the angel Gabriel (Jibril), and that the prophet Muhammad was born around the year 609 CE in the city of Mecca in the Arabian Peninsula.

In 609 CE, when Muhammad was 40 years old, God ordered him to start his mission of preaching and to establish the religion of Islam. At that time, the prophet had only been in the city of Mecca for about two years and had already heard the message from God that he should establish Islam as the religion of the people.

The Quran says that God sent the prophet Muhammad to establish the religion of Islam and to be the last of the prophets.
