QuickTime Alternative is basically a software that will allow you to view and watch QuickTime videos without needing to install QuickTime. It is developed by Codecguide for users who do not have QuickTime installed on their computers.  

You can now view MOV, 3GP and QT video formats on any multimedia player without any problem. Once it is installed, you are good to go. You do not have to relaunch QuickTime Alternative everytime you plan on watching a MOV, 3GP, or QT video file because this software is made to be unnoticeable. To be honest, you might forget that you have it installed on your computer. The software also comes with a Media Player Classic, but that is up to you to decide if you want it installed. In case you do not have other media players available, you can just stick to it. Browser extensions are available as well and again, it is up to you if you want them installed.
