Pro Skater XXL is a free sports game from Captain Elderly where you will have to climb up the ranks in order to win a skateboarding competition. You’ll also need to collect and eat burgers scattered around by the burger chain sponsoring the competition.

Compared to Skateboard Party 3 Lite ft Greg Lutzka, Pro Skater XXL is simpler in terms of gameplay, character design, and locations. The former allows you to customize your character and board, while the latter only allows you to use two pre-made characters. However, the game is still under development so more options could be added.

Classic, retro skating game

Pro Skater XXL uses 3D graphics that are reminiscent of the classic PlayStation 1, giving the game a retro arcade feel. There are two different modes that you can play in — Competition Mode and Free Skate. Competition Mode throws you straight into the tournament where you will need to skate around a concrete park, do tricks to build up your score, and collect sponsorships while you’re at it.

Before that, you can choose to play Free Skate to practice flying off ramps and performing tricks so you don’t wipe out too quickly. This is also quite helpful as the game’s physics can be difficult to work with. Some letters that provide bonuses are hard to reach, even when making use of the available ramps and building up enough force to jump up.

Downloading the file is also tedious, seeing as you need to extract a ZIP file first before you can find the actual game. In the extracted folder, look for the EXE file to run the program. You’ll also need to grant special permissions to open downloads from unknown sources since your device won’t be able to recognize the file’s developer.

Could use a few tweaks

Overall, Pro Skater XXL has a promising start, however, there are still some improvements that need to be made. With tricky physics that makes it difficult to perform certain moves, it becomes difficult to achieve what you want to do within the game. However, since the game is still in the process of development, these issues can still be fixed in time for the final output.
