Prefectura is an Android application designed to assist sports navigators who traverse the water mirrors under the jurisdiction of the Argentine Naval Prefecture. It provides information on the status of ports, borders, river heights, and history of measurements. Additionally, it offers news, hydro-meteorological bulletins, notices, and useful information about procedures and the location of various PNA offices. The app also features information on the international signal code flags, knots, Morse code, cloud types, and waves.

One of its most notable features is the ability for every sports navigator to have access to the Automatic Identification System (AIS) on their device. The app will return AIS information, but it is not part of the AIS since it uses an independent data network. This novelty, designed specifically for recreational nautical activities, allows real-time tracking of vessels, identification of their position, and direct communication to the 106 line to report a nautical emergency using the coverage of the telephone network.
