Salah, or prayer, is one of the five pillars of Islam. This is the second of the five pillars, and it has a very important role in the religious life of a Muslim. The importance of Salah is described in the Quran and in the sayings of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and it is reported that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "The best of you is that you should pray and give thanks to God, and the worst of you is that you should do nothing and be qunut (ignorant) of God."
