PM Awas Yojana is a program aimed at providing housing for all in urban areas by the yearLaunched on June 25th, 2015, this mission offers Central Assistance to implementing agencies through States/Union Territories and Central Nodal Agencies. The goal is to provide houses to all eligible families and beneficiaries based on the validated demand, which amounts to approximately 1.12 crore houses.

According to the guidelines of PM Awas Yojana (Urban), houses for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) can have a carpet area of up to 30 square meters. However, States/UTs have the flexibility to increase the size of houses after consulting and obtaining approval from the Ministry.
