An adventure game where buttons decide your fate
PLACE is an adventure game built around psychological horror and choice-driven puzzles. Played from a first-person perspective, it places you in a controlled room where survival depends on pressing mysterious buttons. With each decision, you're either one step closer to freedom or your next death. Expect tension, mystery, and trial-and-error gameplay.
Press, die, repeat
In PLACE, you begin as a nameless figure trapped in a cold, concrete room under constant surveillance. The only way forward is through a single red button. This starts a chain of unpredictable events—gas leaks, hidden doors, or sudden darkness. The game blends the mechanics of a walking simulator with stealth, puzzle elements, and hidden object interactions to create a slow but deliberate psychological horror experience.
Each button press alters the environment, triggering physical traps or unlocking clues. You’ll rely on memory and deduction to mark safe buttons and avoid deadly ones. Puzzles, interactive physics, and branching paths add depth to exploration. While the game is engaging, it’s currently limited to a demo version with only the starting room. Additionally, some visuals are AI-generated, which may lead to minor design inconsistencies.
Limited demo, but interesting foundation
Overall, PLACE offers a contained yet thought-provoking experience that requires careful attention and trial-and-error logic. It’s a slow-paced but focused adventure with engaging puzzle and stealth mechanics. The current demo is brief, but the variety of possible endings adds replay value. If you’re drawn to minimalistic, first-person psychological games, the game gives you enough to explore while leaving room for future refinement.
