It’s a management sim featuring pirate and supernatural themes, wherein players take on the role of a pirate captain who runs a shop and tavern on an island where damned souls go. They will cater to a diverse set of customers to earn enough to buy their way out of the afterlife. 

Combining the shop management elements of Supermarket Simulator with the open-world exploration of a game like Dave the Diver, Pirate Cove Simulator offers an engaging experience filled with intrigue and wacky misadventures to be had outside of managing your business. 

Damned pirate voyage 

In Pirate Cove Simulator, you play as the captain of a pirate crew that got caught in a deadly storm while returning from an expedition, hauling treasure in your cargo hold. You awake on the fabled Island of the Damned, where pirates go when they die. Now, the island is home to plenty of fellow undead buccaneers with lots of gold at their disposal. 

An idea strikes, and you end up putting up a shop and tavern business on the island, selling items and offering services to customers with big pockets, in hopes of buying your way out of the afterlife. Revive and operate an old distillery to produce and sell rum and trade valuable goods. Eventually, you can have your crew help and mind the shop and other day-to-day activities. 

Given some free time, you can engage in various side activities like fishing, looking for rare plants, or exploring the large island in search of hidden treasures. While they’re mostly recreational, some will net you some gold to go towards buying your way out of the afterlife. That said, Pirate Cove Simulator has plenty of room for improvement, particularly with its UI, which is rather clunky and cumbersome to navigate.

Overall, Pirate Cove Simulator is a fun and quirky management sim with a more casual and humorous approach compared to its contemporaries. Sell rum, trade goods, and scour the island for hidden treasures, all in an attempt to build your cache of gold to buy out of the afterlife. It’s still rough around the edges, but there’s potential for some good times with this game.
