A pine apple is a tropical, perennial, drought-tolerant plant. It can grow to be as tall as five feet and have a large spread. The leaves are long, flat, and wavy. They are pale green to yellowish in color and have a serrated edge. The flowers are reddish-brown and the fruit is a dark blue to black.

The pine apple is native to tropical regions, mainly the Americas. However, it has been found in a variety of other locations, including the Arabian Peninsula, East Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, Australia, China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Venezuela.

It is a very common garden plant and can be found in gardens and yard areas.
